SPOTTER / PRIVACYYour workouts stay with you.
Spotter is a workout journal by Hiorio. It records exercises and sets, visualizes your history, and can count repetitions using the iPhone camera. This policy explains how version 1.0 handles your information. Effective October 3, 2026.
On-device processing
Camera frames are analyzed on your device to estimate body joints and count repetitions. The App Store version does not save raw workout videos or training photos and does not send camera frames to Hiorio or an AI server. Camera access is optional: you can log workouts manually without it. Motion sensor readings may be used on-device to interpret gravity and camera movement.
Workout and diagnostic records
Exercises, repetitions, set details, dates, weights, notes, routines, custom exercise names and language preferences are stored in the app on your device. Diagnostic logs can include joint coordinates, movement estimates, recognition decisions, repetition counts, timestamps and camera status. These logs contain no recorded video, photos or audio. They are not automatically sent to us.
Apple Health
If you choose to import workouts and grant read access, Spotter reads workout identifiers, activity types, start and end times, duration, source app or device, and any permitted distance and active energy associated with those workouts. Imported records are stored locally for your calendar and reports. Spotter does not write or change Apple Health records and does not read routes or heart rate. Health information is not used for advertising, marketing or data brokerage. Manage access in Health → profile → Apps and Services → Spotter. Revoking access stops future reads; previously imported local copies remain until removed.
Exports, backups and support
You decide whether to share a workout, export a CSV or JSON backup, or export a diagnostic log. The iOS share sheet sends your selected file only to the destination you choose; its handling is then governed by that destination. Prepared export files can remain in Files even if you cancel sharing. Device or iCloud backups may contain app data according to your Apple settings; Hiorio does not operate a workout cloud service. If you email support, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send and use them to answer your request. Do not include health data or logs unless you want to share them.
Retention and deletion
Moving a workout to Trash removes it from workout lists and statistics but keeps a restorable local copy. Diagnostic archives can be deleted in Diagnostic logs; exported copies must be deleted separately in Files or their chosen destination. To remove all local app records, use Delete App in iPhone Storage (Offload App keeps documents). Manage and delete device backups separately through Apple. Imported originals in Apple Health are unaffected by deleting Spotter data. Contact support to request deletion of information you emailed us, subject to any applicable retention obligations.
No accounts, advertising or tracking
Spotter does not require an account and includes no advertising, tracking SDK or automatic cloud analytics. Hiorio does not sell workout or Health information. The support website uses Cloudflare for delivery and security, which may process standard technical request information such as IP address and browser details. This website has no advertising, analytics scripts or tracking cookies.
Fitness estimates
Rep detection and muscle allocation are estimates and can be corrected in your journal. Muscle charts summarize logged training; they do not measure muscle activation, fatigue, recovery or medical conditions. Spotter is not a medical device.
